Now i am not talking dirty... because that vote would be a very one sided. But more seriously i am buying a pair of studio monitors and find my self stuck between sizes.

The price isnt really the issue its what is best for monitoring. The room is 12'x16' i was going to get the KRK Rockit 8's but i hear that the KRK Rockit 6's are the better choice.

What would you choose?

I'd like to read answers to this, too. I'm moving my studio into a small room and need info like this from practical people who have practical experience with it.

Every time the question comes up it gets the same response. For nearfield monitors by and large the 6" out performs the 8". A 12x16 room is just not that big.

Only if it is not treated... My second control room is not even quite that size and has a superb sound and even frequency response.
We use 5.1 Genelec 1031 (8"), NS10s, Quested HQ210 (10", suspended in 80 kg sand-filled boxes and steelsprings) in there.
But with an unequipped basement smaller woofers can surely be better. Consider building some traps absorbers diffusors into corners, sealing,
seat benches if you want/need to get control over the lower octaves on larger monitors, sometime.
