A public Thank You to Mike Fossenkemper
Since I came here looking for help in mastering a project, I thought I should let you guys know what a great job Mike Fossenkemper did for me. I’ve always wanted to work on records and with great artists, but it just didn’t happen for me. I work with very small budgets and “we need it yesterday” kind of gigs. I’m Earl Sheib.(sp??) This project was 10 public domain Xmas tunes that I had to arrange/produce. The money was so bad that I only hired a sax player to play on three cuts. I played everything else. I had about 16 days to do all of the programming and mixing. Anyway….. I know what I sent Mike was out of whack. I had to mix all of these things in 3 days. He got the thing sounding so much better. The low end is much much tighter and the top sparkles. The low end from tune to tune is great. On some I used an upright sample and on many I used the mini moog and when I listened to it before I sent it to Mike, the low end from song to song needed help. Now everything is balanced. Mike was able to do a great job for me and did it within my budget. Not to mention, my client was really happy with the finished product. This Cd was shipped last week to 450 different radio station across the US to be used as production music during the Holidays, plus I’ve got something that’ll go gold at my house this Season. Again, Thank You, Mike!!
Linnwood, thank you for the very kind words.
Here's an example of what professional mastering can do for a project!!!
I'm sure Mike does this everyday, as do good mastering engineers all over.
