hey guys, I'm trying to get my headphone amp from one room to another (vocal booth). ive got a TRS female socket and in the forum search regarding this subject people were talking about the socket having 3 pins at the back BUT mine has 5 pins. They are numbered 2, 3, 5, 8, sc.

now i have the mic cable which has 2 wires (white and blue) and some copper wiring wrapped around the two wires.

Now for the life of me i dont have a clue as to which wire i connect to which number. If anyone know could they please inform me as its the last piece of wiring to finish my studio?

thanks

sounds like you may have a switched TRS socket

a little more info please
which Headphone amp ?
which room will it be in ?

you could just run a simple headphone extension lead
or
make two simple adapter cables so that you can use a spare mic lead as a headphone extension lead

all this stuff is available from a Jaycar store near to you

general TRS and XDL info ... and heaps more cool stuff is at Rane
http://www.rane.com/note110.html
( for Kev's mic lead as an extension lead make a #2 and #21
for your cable white = red and blue = black )
