I've found it's mostly just the bitrate you record at.

Since they degrade MP3's already (some might be 128, 192, etc etc) to stream, I've found that changing the bitrate to 320 will make it come out clear on myspace.

Try this, find a track that sounds great at full quality. Record the output of it as a myspace mp3. check the frequency response of the compressed version and eq your track to compensate for it. keep in mind that if there isn't any information above a certain frequency on myspace, filter it out and save yourself some bandwidth. Mp3's make you the director of traffic fitting 1411kbs of traffic into 128kbs of space :)

if you are talkning about myspace.com.. I preferred to post my songs at Audiostreet.net. Much better interfacing and they do not damage your sound so much. 192kbps seems fine in there.
