I JUST BOUGHT A NEW FIREWIRE SOLO, AND SOUND ONLY COMES FROM THE LEFT CHANNEL WHILE RECORDING. THIS MAKES IT VERY HARD TO HEAR YOURSELF. I'VE FIGURED OUT HOW TO RECORD IN BOTH CHANNELS BY SWITCHING MY COOL EDIT PRO RECORDING SETTINGS TO RECORD FROM LEFT CHANNEL ONLY. THIS ENABLES ME TO PLAY THE RECORDING BACK IN STEREO BUT WHILE I'M RECORDING, I ONLY GET SOUND FROM MY LEFT. SOMEONE HELP!

I CALLED TECH SUPPORT AND GOT THE RUNAROUND:(

Are you monitoring your sound directly from the hardware or through the software? If you're using direct monitoring, and you're not inputing a stereo signal, then you'll only hear the signal through one side. You can fix this by opening the control panel of your FireWire Solo and adjusting the pan on your input.
