Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anyone knew how Dave Grohl of the foo fighters gets that lovely chorus effect on 99% of his vocal tracks? Is it simply the same line sung twice and layered over each other or are there any other tricks going on? I know a lot of people in rock double up vocal lines to thicken the sound, but Dave just seems to get it so tight and crisp - is it just good performance or balance/eq/ plugin tricks as well?

Any advice would be lovely!

Thanks,

Rich

Try, "pitch shift C" on a Yamaha SPX90 II? A few semi tones up in the left Channel and a few down in the right Channel. You may want to try that in software? Mix the vocal to center with some nice compression. Mix that with the directions to Carnegie hall and you're there.

Stop by the Carnegie deli afterwards for their incredible corned beef and pickles.
