Does anyone have recomendations of affordable but durable mic stands? I bought 3 of those "On-Stage" stands about 6 months ago, and the little bolt that adjusts the boom angle has stripped on two so far. I had an old dead stand from my band to replace one bolt with, but now another has gone bye-bye. The reason the bolts strip is I have to keep tightening them in order to keep them from "drooping" when I put up drum overheads. I have Tama Stagemaster cymbal stands I got back in the late 80's which still work fine after hundreds of gigs and such, and they were the cheapo's back then. Are there any such reliable brands for mic stands(before I go buy something else that is just as bad)? Obviously, since I put this in "budget gear", I'd like to keep it within reason, but I don't see the savings if I have to replace a stand every few months! I can pick up a bolt to fix it at the hardware store, but it won't solve the "drooping" problem. Unless, of course, the bolt is just the problem...maybe its made from metal which is too soft? In which case a better bolt might solve it. Sorry to go on and on about this, but its hard to record if I can't keep the mics up (insert Bob Dole jokes here). Thanks~ ANDY
