ok have a question got my Apogeeensemble and hooked outputs 1-2 up to my krk v6's. I get sound out but there is a lot of "fuzz", when i turn my monitors off they seem to have a loud powering down fmmp sound (the best i can describe it) with nothing plugged into the speakers they are quite with normal speaker noise, when i plug a cable into them (i'm using TS) they are quite, but when i plug the cable into the outputs and into the v6's they have a lot of fuzz to them... anyone?

Actually there should be no difference in noise, whether you're feeding your speakers balanced or unbalanced, unless you have a really bad ground loop. If you do, it would be in your best interest to find out where the ground loop is occurring and either too long its ground or the ground it is plugged into.

You may have a serious electrical problem that needs to be attended to before somebody gets hurt.

I had a similar problem with a speaker controller's balanced line outputs. It was balanced TRS, but I was using an adapter that only took the T&S signals, ignoring the R(ing). Lots of noise, bad audio in general, almost called the manufacturer thinking the unit was defective.

Re-read the manual, checked my wiring (as well as A/B it with a true balanced output that had no problems), and found it, much the same as you did, James. Same situation here:
