Head phones for electronic gear.

Hi. I'm a bit of a recording novice. More of a musician than anything. I use a mix of electronic gear and acoustic gear. A live drum set, congas, assorted percussion, a roland td-6 and hand-sonic. I'm looking for some semi-open headphones that are affordable in the $100-150 price range. I was thinking about the AKG K 240 S. What would you think that would be similar quality or better for this use?

Thanks for the help.

Headphones are good and common in the past
and quick for putting the on and taking them off

but
don't discount IEM Earphones (Pro Buds) as a option
it might also help you make the transition to an IEM systems in the future

cheap ones are not worth it but the slightly more expensive Pro units with better drivers and thicker, stronger cable
and with more foam and tube choices
could be a good investment

not wanting to endorse anything but perhaps start by looking at the Shure E3 and then look to the competition

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I've got a pair of reasonable sony buds(not pro), but I'd really like a full cup set of headphones. Maybe you have a good point about starting with a system for live performance, but in the mean time, I'd like to pick up some full size headphones for low level practice and recording. The E3's look nice, but I'm trying to stay closer to the 100-150 range. Any other thoughts? How about the Sennheiser Hd 595?
