Does anyone have an opinion on this mic? I was thinking about this one or the Baby Bottle by BLUE. Which should I get? It will be used mainly for vocals. Or any other suggestions? Thanks!

Don't set the drink there!

These are all fairly equal in build quality, sonic performance, and wow factor. This decision of which of the three would have to rest solely on your own ears. Each has a place in a recording and since you mention vocals as the primary usage, it can only be determined by your own ears. As I said, these are all very nice mics, with the KSM44 and the Baby Bottle being a bit above the C3 in terms of detail. But as a vocal mic, sometimes that bit of blurring in the detail helps a specific kind of voice. Not to say the C3 really 'lacks' in its ability to accurately capture a source, its just not as surgical as the 44 or as up in yer face as the bottle.

I own both the Baby Bottle and the SP-C3.I like them both but they sound very different. The C3 is much brighter to me.I like the C3 fer some vocals and acoustic guitar and the different patterns are cool too.I've been using the BB alot.I luv it on electric guitars and some vocals. Its real mellow to me and my guitar sound is pretty bright so it works great fer that but Ive never liked it fer acoustic guitars its too dark.Fer vocals it goes either way but I usually end up using the BB.The C-3 can sound kinda thin somtimes but that could also be because I dont have any good pres.RODNEY

I have had a KSM44 for over 2 years. It is pretty much my go to mic for anything requiring a LD sound. While I always audition multiple other choices I would say the 44 gets selected for vocals (even over the U87) about 80% of the time.

But like others have said, it does not work on all vocals or apps, but it is a very very good all around mic.

We ran through a lot of mics recently looking for a mic for female dialog. The two that came out above the others were the Blue Baby Bottle and the EV RE20. I find the Baby Bottle to be a more balanced mic than the Studio Projects C1, which has a hyped high end.

I found the Baby Bottle really liked my voice which also goes well with mics featuring a hyped high end. So, the Baby Bottle might be a real gem. I'd like more experience with it before giving it more praise.
