You should be asking Shure Tech Support about this. They are crackerjack techs and very helpful to deal with. There have been other posters on this forum with similar issues with the KSM line, so I'm sure (sorry about the pun!) they will be familiar with this question.

Thanks. I called shure. They had some bad ones that got sent out. They are replacing them.

Good deal. A lesser company would have very possibly side-stepped your problem. That's what I like about Shure- they support their gear very well.
