hi i have installed all the drivers correctly for my multimix, and everything seems cool. the problem i am having is setting it up correctly in cubase. i dont have monitors connected to th mixer, so I want to use my pc soundcard and speakers for monitoring and most importantly, playing back what i have recorded. i can manage to get a signal into Cubase but only by switching between the master ASIO driver to the Alesis one, but then i cant hear nothing through my pc speakers. can someone please help me with this, do i need some monitors for the multimix

thanks

While it's true you'll want some monitors for your multimix, there's an alternative solution that'll work for now.

You can route the output from your multimix to your soundcards line-level input which will send the signal to your pc speakers. You'll experience latency this way if you're monitoring during tracking but at least this way you can hear playback and do some mixing.

This has worked for me in the past.

Another thing to consider is routing your multimix to a mixer board, if you have one, and monitoring on headphones from the mixer. If you route the mixer's outputs to your pc soundcard then you've also increased the number of ways you can monitor without buying new speakers (for now).

ok thanks guys, so basiclyy my multimix is a my primary soundcard now but without speakers? (hence why no sound). i will most likely invest in some self powered monitors (you dont need an amp for this type??). for now ill just use my headphones. also how will i hear my usual pc sounds, like mp3s, games, etc. wil all these be routed to the multimix????

cheers
