Any specific reason why? I don't have this unit but with some of them speaker emulation is something you have to turn on. So if you find that you're not getting the tone you want, check to make sure that speaker emulation is active. Of course, through your amp you won't need this but direct it's essential.

well I mic my amp when i record during the day, however most of my recording time is at night and it causes an issue when your neighbor is a doctor and thinks he god. So i needed something for di. I the book for the 3000 doesnt show diagram for running into a pre amp, in this case my mbox. Excuse the noob question but what is the speaker emulation?

It's exactly what it sounds like. Speaker EMULATION. It emulates the sound of a speaker cabinet by means of algorhythms. That way when you plug into the LINE (don't be plugging into the mic input. And, into the instrument input only if your GNX is set up properly) inputs of your Mbox, it doesn't sound like you're pluggin directly through a distortion box without an amp. The emulation is what makes it sound like you did a great job micing your amp. All that being said, I can't help but think that if you're plugging into the mic input, it's distorting real bad. If you do plug into the instrument input, make sure both the Mbox and GNX are set up accordingly.
