What are your opinions of the Shure KSM32SL?

I hear so may awesome things about the RODE NT and its like 1/3 the price, so I was considering selling my sure and getting some extra cash for a preamp or something.

You know microphones are not like sexual partners or underwear. You really shouldn't change them often when you have a good selection to begin with. I've never heard a Shure, I didn't like. Sure! There are other microphones and they sound different. Which is great! In that way, they are like underwear! You can decide whether you're going to wear the little pink one's with the lace, or the rosy red ones with the peekaboo crotch. You wouldn't want to be without either one because you'll never know when you might need it! So keep what you have, save your $$ and then go ahead and buy yourself a Rode.

Please dont make me laugh like that this early in the morning ever again :)

Normally I would totally agree, but im p*ss *ss broke atm and convincing my better half to let me spend money is not happening at the moment lol.

I was just curious because I have yet to read one bad review of the Rode, and I see how you love 57 and 58, I do mostly Rock stuff so Im wondering the the KSM32SL is even overkill.

Off to see the Wizard......

Holy sh*t Remy...this might be one of the more profound posts on this board!

Seriously - she's right. Don't sell a mic to buy a mic - it's never a good practice. Unless you can't STAND the mic or don't have any good uses for it. The Shure is a GREAT mic and I wouldn't consider it overkill. I'm assuming you're referring to the NT1A as the Rode - it too is a great mic, but the Shure is by far more versatile. The NT1A will work beautifully on certain voices and if you have a pair - they're great overheads (albeit a tad bulky to fly over a kit without some mondo stands).

Scrimp and save and tell your other half to respect your authority! Then, after you've made a little money with your Shure, spend it on the Rode.

BTW - Remy...how did you know I had that rosy red pair with the peek-a-boo crotch?
