Cubase SX3 ASIO recording Latency problems AGH!

I have Cubase SX3 and I've been trying to tweak out the settings forever now, but no matter what I do it will work fine for a bit, then while recording something, it will be out of time to the click after it's recorded. I try the ASIO Multimedia driver that Cubase automatically installs but I find it to be pretty crappy, or atleast hard to get good settings. I installed ASIO4ALL and it's okay but I still have the issue. I constantly have to tweak the settings.

I changed the latency compensation to 0ms in ASIO4ALL and then i'll put it at 2048ms latency and great i'll record a take and it will be fine. next take its out of time so i lower the latency to 512ms or something much lower, do it again, may or may not work. Anyway it's frustrating. If anyone can help me please give me some insight.

what interface???? in almost all instances your better off using the drivers written specificlly for the card.... BTW the problem your describing generally has little to do with drivers... typiclly drivers problems manifest as stuttering and lags in real time... not play back timing... or have i miss read you???? what interface are you using???

Ok, you're not specifying whether you are recording midi or audio or whether your click is a midi click or audio click but this might very well solve your problem. Within your project go to Devices>Device Setup>DirectMusic and then activate the "Use System Timestamp" box. I had the same problem before and this fixed it. Let us know if this does it for you. Good Luck. :D
