I already have a fast, new HP desktop so I would like to do computer based recordings of everything from acoustic guitar, electric, vocals, and keyboard. Here is what i'm thinking will work. IF YOU HAVE BETTER SUGGESTIONS LET ME KNOW! since I am new to recording.

M-Audio Delta 44 = 150
Logitech z-2300 Computer Multimedia Speakers = 120
ART Tube MP = 65
Nady Pop Filter = 20
Line 6 Spider III Guitar Amp = 100
Audio-Technica Pro5V Headphones = 70

*I already have instruments, mic stands, and mics.*

Please let me know if any of this stuff is junk! and if i should look elsewhere for other gear.

Hmmm....

Lose the computer speakers - they have no value in a studio.

Stick with the Line 6.

Lose the Art Tube pre and the M-Audio and get something like an Onyx Satellite - great pres and conversion plus it includes Mackie Tracktion (a great piece of software - worth WAY more than the $200 it normally sells for!)

Use good cans like Sennheiser 280s or AKG 240s and save up a little for some decent monitors. (Don't waste money now on crappy speakers that you'll outgrow in a few weeks!) Oh...and save up for some acoustic treatment too! Auralex has a GREAT service where you send in a drawing of your room and they'll send you back diagrams showing you what and how much to use!

Good luck!

I don't think any one else needs to reply to this. In my opinion, Cucco nailed it right the first time. :D
