does anyone know if the mytek 8X96 is compatible with pro tools HD? (i'm assuming that its not...) if not, is it possible to use a pro tools HD compatible DIO card with it to compensate? or any other possibility?

If I understand you correctly, you are asking me if I believe there is any sonic differences, in the end product, when utilizing different types of digital bitstream transfers? I.e. ADAT style optical, AES/EBU, SPDIF, and the type of connection connector used for connection, over non-specified distances? Unfortunately, I really can answer that question. If I did, I would have to kill you. And that wouldn't be very ladylike.
