Why look at Peavey alone?

Rockmaster was used in the late 80s early 90s as a budget shred metal pre in my neck of the woods.

The 6505 is the 5150 rebadged. So if you want that brown sound that Eddie Van Halen had, then that's what you should get.

The new JS is REALLY cool. Probably the best amp that they have made. The TripleX is a Rectafier knock off for the most part.

You have asked questions that are hard for anyone but you to answer. You should go play them all and find out what works for your tone and style.

jsx and xxx kill for metal tone, far warmer than mesa boogie but retains the edge imo.

i play melodic death metal / symphonic metal and im looking into a jsx for recording.

6505... its an amazing amp. yeah its van halen's amp, but listen to any of in flames 'colony' or 'clayman' cds and youll hear what that amp can really do, from clean to bluesy to full out death metal. thats the only time ive heard a guitar amp sound on a produced cd the exact same it sounds in person.

for mesa boogie, the triple recto is the usual choice.

also look around for what other guitarists use. i recently found out a lot of artists i listen to use krank amps, though i havent had a chance to listen to them in person im impressed with the tone.
