Hi, I am looking to start a semi-professional studio. I already have an Otari Status 18r 24 track recording console with patchbay, an Alesis HD24 multitrack, Event tr8 active monitors, a 16 channel XLR snake with 4 TRS returns for headphones, headphones, a headphone amp, 3 D-25 to 1/4" TRS snakes for connection from the multitrack to the console, a power conditioner, a rack, and rack screws. At this point I'm worried that I'm overlooking the little things. I need to know if there are any other things that I'm really going to need to get this studio running. The "nuts and bolts" if you will. Let's also hypothetically say microphones and signal processors aren't needed. Feel free to be as specific as possible, I'm very familiar with recording terms. All you pros out there I need your help! Thanks!

Glad that you bought those rack screws you mentioned...you could have a REAL mess on your hands without 'em!
You have not mentioned anything about ROOM TREATMENT!!!! What, you're gonna throw some boxes with knobs into a room, put a couple of mics up and call yourself a "recording studio" ('semi-professional' at that?). Like our esteemed moderator Tom W stated, you have a ways to go before you can make that claim...
Also, what format(s) are you going to be mixing down to? What about editing and the PC/software? You stated that "hypothetically speaking, mics and signal processing are not needed". Oh, really? You already have a rack of Distressors, Li'l Freqs, and a Yardstick? A vintage Neumann or two? The day I don't lust for yet another mic is the day I'm buried 6 feet under. How many gobos, cinderblocks and sandbags do you have to isolate sources and mics? Spare cables, stands, booms, goosenecks, adapters, DI boxes, flashlights, candles, incense, a coffeemaker, and a fridge? I'd count on putting that Otari on it's own UPS/conditioner, as well as any/all of your computers.
You are on your way, guy, but that road is a bumpy one and far from completed. Good luck !
