I was wondering if i could link two digi002s together and have 16 inputs or does it not work that way and has anyone worked with the control 24 control surface and reviews on it?

Depends, PTLE can only support one interface at a time.
Other DAWs may support multiple interfaces, MOTUs Digital Performer supports any combination of MOTU audio interfaces.
You should also be able to it at the OS level also, been years since I used Windows for audio, but OSX supports multiple interfaces, and so does most Mac DAWs.
