Hey guys!

I will make this short and sweet. I have a budget of around $300 for a reverb. I'm looking at anything new or used. It would be used on mid-sized venues (300-500 peeps) in conjunction with the provided house gear.

I like to buy all of my gear with a high quality:value:endurance ratio. This means, that as much as I'd like to go up to $800 for a new SPX, I just can't. Besides, most of the venues already own one.

I tried reading reviews, but they all have good things to say, but no real 1:1 comparison of budget reverb units. So here's what I came up with:

TC Electronic M-One (either the original or the XL. Don't really know what the exact difference is, and the prices aren't that much different. I can go for either)

Lexicon MX 200 (really like the simplicity of this one and the slightly cheaper price tag)

Lexicon MX 300 (apparently a step up, but I HATE menus and submenus. Reminds me of the DP4 that has a pact with the devil of simplicity. The USB/VST connectivity is useless to me, maybe the programming of effect libraries is a plus, but the biggest would be the routing options)

There's also the MX400 which LOOKS a lot better than the 300, but is quite more expensive. I feel the extra money there, would be for paying off all the features I wouldn't be using. Like I said, all I need is a quality reverb with a couple of knobs. (think Lexicon PCM 60)

The reason I didn't mention the TC Electronic M300 or M350, is because I'll probably be buying one of those anyway, as a backup or spare.

Thank you so much guys! Feel free to suggest any other ones!

P.S. The budget can stretch a bit, IF REALLY REALLY worth the extra bit

The TC M-One is a very transparent unit with a lot of cool sounds in it. Two engines and some memory available. The XL has a bit deeper factory settings to it and more memory. Both are excellent . I like them better than the less expensive Lexicons. The M-one has more of the trashy snare sounds from the 80's in it.

Theres other stuff in that range but these two are the only ones I would recommend.

+10. Nothing like a million presets to amuse the children running the sound board. We have a Lexicon MX200 at church and I have the setting nailed to one of the vocal reverb presets. The unit is tucked at the bottom of the rack so it is hard to reach. Hopefully they won't notice it. Got a big REVERB label on the board so they can add wet to the mix.

The reverb sounds on the MX200 aren't going to make you sell your top of the line units. But it has a characteristic Lexicon sound. If you really want to drown something in effects, you probably need to buy expensive effects. But if you want to add a touch to hide a few sins (good thing to do at church) the MX200 is useful.
