I am running Windows XP Media Center /w SP2.

I have a Seasound Soloist installed, with what I thought the correct drivers. I cannot get any input or output through Sonar with the Soloist. I have MIDI in and out through a usb keyboard controller.

Is there a compatibility issue that I am not seeing?
I can play mp3s through winamp fine and internet and regular windows audio is fine.

I would love any help, thank you!

Thats where I got the drivers from... the main problem is that Sonar doesn't recognize them.

The exact message it gives is "the following drivers do not support the current audio format or are in use by another application. Please choose whether or not you want to disable them or use them anyway."

Then it proceeds to list the Soloist.

I am not really sure what ASIO4ALL does, but byteheaven.com recommends I use it. Does it have to with MME or WDM mapping? As you can probably tell, I am pretty noob.

It can play MIDI Out through the keyboard, so I don't really know what is going on.

Other info: I had to change registry settings to think that Windows had DirectX 8.1 to install the program.

Thank you Space,

and anyone else too!

Do you think I need to do something with the Program Compatibility Wizard?

Did byteheaven recommend that or was that on a "hunch?" See that is gettin' too tricky with your OS. Things that make specific calls that may be only available in DirectX 8.2 and up can run your system to pieces.

I do not own this hardware/software configuration, it only peaked my interest in that both items are rather oldish.

Is sonar up-to-date?
