Hello everyone,

I am looking for a mixer. Effects, EQ, preamps , etc are all completely unimportant. I'd like to use it for output, actually. I have two computers whose sound I would like to mix. I have two studio monitors with 1/4" jacks as inputs, which will be the primary sound outputs from the mixer. As inputs.. one of my computers puts out two L/R 1/4" jacks from an Echo Mia soundcard. The other has your standard cheapo computer soundcard with a 1/8" stereo jack.

I'd also like to be able to use this for audio recording in the future, so I'd like it to have:

- 4+ XLR / 1/4" inputs
- 1+ stereo jack (preferably 1/8", although it wouldn't be terrible to convert)
- 2+ 1/4" outputs

Thank you!

Another curiousity:What sounds from the two computers do you want to mix?

Do you have MIDI coming from the cheap soundcard one, with the MIA doing audio? If so, are you syncing them via MIDI sync? If so, no problem. You can do that fine.

OR, do you expect to get recorded audio into and out of both computers in sync. If so, you're gonna have problems. From what you have listed, ain't gonna happen.

Possibly, you may just want to play something from one while you are doing something in real-time through the other, and that's OK as long as you're adding them both at once through the mixer.

What is your intended application? I'm just posting this so you don't get possibly disappointed when you try to run two digital audio signals out of two computers, and they won't stay in sync with other...which seems a real possibility from what you stated.
