I've started building an home studio since 2 or 3 months now, but only to record vocals (for now).
Ive got myself packed up with a 'PRO' pre-amp (PRO Channel 1-Ch Tube MicAmp/Comp/EQ/2HE) and a Fame mic (Fame Vintage T47 tubemicrofone), using Reason and Cubase. but without a mixer, cuz it won't be any good unless i buy a really good one.

i still need some effects (reverb, delay etc). what do you guys prefer for a cool sound but cheap in budget? or are there some really cool effect plugins for reason / cubase? . ( i prefer hearing the effect while recording, just for some extra feeling)
