Creating original sequences isn't the problem nor is sampling because i prefer original music. My question is how to create sounds that are MINE and noone elses. A couple of producer from my area (Timbaland and The Neptunes) have their own signature sound and it didn't take me very long to learn that their sounds don'g come from thousand dollar boxes like the roland mc-307 or mophatt. ( Or do they). The Neptunes are generally know for their Kick and Snare. That sound is there's and i've never heard that sound anywhere else before. But they haven't always had that sound. Their material used to sound like others. Timbaland too!So, where'd they get it? I've got all the recording programs, editing software, and mastering software i should need. There's a website called Bangin beats.com or hip hop drums.com that promise original sound...what you think...sorry for the long message..just hit me with ideas professional or amateur.

A lot of folks "mash stuff up' in a computer - treating one clean sound with plug ins, distortion whatever to 'freak it out' then keeping the result as a new sample - and one that no-one else has...

have you tried recording yourself 'beat boxing' sounds you imagine? (up close to a mic) You could sample that and layer the voice with other sounds - that sort of hybrid makes for fresh stuff...

Word Up! Aow! - Kosh!
