I have been getting variousopinions from all the major recording forums. I'm really hesitant about TAXI. I've heard many negatives (and positives) about the service. Anyway, If TAXI is the wrong way to get my music into "somebodys" hands (labels, TV/Movie/advertisement music execs, etc.) what is the right way? I know its a "one shot in 2 million" but I need to start somewhere. I've read all the industry standard books etc.. I want to know the methods people here have used. I'm not expecting to be the next Mike Oldfield or Moby..but it would be nice to hear my tracks as background for commercials, television, etc. Please list your proven methods and sucsess/failure stories about TAXI or any other service. I plan on having a "4 track" sampler EP finished by summer. I'm hoping to have Sterling master the tracks. Listen here for an example of my work (it's unmastered...and in mid quality MP3 format http://web.mac.com/a.daleclark/iWeb/Site/Silent%20Whispers.html
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Abery Clark

LABELS SUCK!

Bottom line is you have a better chance at the lottery. The labels (at least majors) can not be trusted and as far as I'm concerned are being run by the wrong people. Just turn on your radio and listen to the same crapola being played 20 times a day. Best advice? You're on it! The web rocks and like any business, it takes time to build! Learn it!

You may not asked for comments on the song but I think is pretty good, it sounds very simple, aditionally I think that the piano sounds boxy and at some points there are pops and clicks that could be due to the mp3 quality when downlaoding the music.
Regarding on how to get your music to the rigth people I wish you the best of lucks.

Regards, Zoro. :)

DJ,

I know it's easy to be a skeptic in this day and age, but no, my intent was not to resurrect a bunch of threads. But if google picks them up (which it does), why shouldn't I be able to include links that DO show exactly what we do (because so many people don't really understand it exactly), and links to success stories in our members' own words? Really not trying to spam or advertise, just getting the truth out there.

thanks,
Michael
