I know most rock bands do most if not all of their writing in house, I was just hoping for a different poinr of view, but how is the job market for HardRock Songwriters?

I don't thimk there's much of a market for this. The ONLY hard-rock songwriter I know is Marti Fredrickson (Aerosmith,VinceNeil, ect). Most bands (if not all) in this genre have/are there own writers...a historical phenomena that has solidified over time. Also, since this "market" has become secondary, coupled with the fact that most "songs" in these genre's do not lend themselves very often to cross-over creates a situation where few if any writers can survive and make a living writting just "hard rock" songs.

Although Paul & Gene still do it! :D

Yes...but my POINT exactly. They are "in house" so to speak. Dian Warren's more like it...;...
