Hi there,
I'm recording on a HP Envy, via an Allen and Heath ZED 10X mixer. I've tried Sonar LE and Audacity, and in both cases, the metronome gets recorded in the track. Does anyone have suggestions as to reasons and remedies? Thanks.

Been awhile since I used Sonar ( v 8 PE), and I've not used Audacity, so I'll just throw out some possibilities...

1. you are shutting off the metronome on playback, right?
2. You don't have a hot mic somewhere in the room that is picking it up and printing it?
3. Is the metronome printing to the track you are recording, or to another, separate track?
4. There is no "print click" or "print metronome" command engaged anywhere?

finally:

Your problem comes from the zed settings. You probably are routing the click track comming from the DAW to the input again.
Check what input you are recording, is it the aux or the master of the zed ?? The click may be routed there by the zed
Common setups record the mic inputs seperatly and not auxes where you'll want to send your click. Don't forget you can choose in which DAW output to zed input the click and computer goes...

Hope it makes sens

Yes. Your reply prompted me to go check the mixer settings. My understanding of how it all works is still not great, but by enabling both record buttons on the channel, and the USB OUT, it's all working. Thanks again. You're a legend!

Thanks Donny. Got it sorted by revisiting the mixer settings. Amazing things happen when you actually do press record buttons. Thanks again
