The d.c. power input connector is a 4-pin XLR, standard in the pro video world. If it uses the standard pinout, then pin 1 = 0V, pin 4 = +12V.

For the connector, try Farnell (not very far from you), part no. 250-788

I'm sorry I don't have a service manual for the Sigma mixer.

Thank you for the reply but the connector is a 7 pin Bayonet type, probably a Amphenol but not sure as would be a waste of money to buy and find out it does not fit.

I did a bit more digging, and it looks as though it may be only the version of the unit sold for AV work that has the 4-pin XLR. H=960&imgrc=Hgm4hBQqmiopjM:&vet=1&w=1280'">Another photo I found shows a version of the mixer with a 7-pin locking connector, and that must be the type you have.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but this one looks a bit like an Amphenol 7-pin Socapex connector, although they don't appear to show a 7-pin cable-mount plug in the brochure. Lex makes cables with these plugs fitted (M and F) in their Evergrip range.

Not a Socapex because the center pin on the mixer is the same size as the others.

Yes, it's this one, but I think when it comes to devices like the Sigma SS-302, what you need is an AV forum.

To make matters worse, these [[url=http://="https://www.system5…"]magnificent hi-res pictures[/]="https://www.system5…"]magnificent hi-res pictures[/] show a 2-point style bayonet coupling, which might make finding a new mate especially difficult. Most comparable multi-pins that I see these days are 3-point (as are my Sony DXC camera and recorder from the 80s - 90s). If you're going to rehab this thing, you may have to replace both the panel-mount female and cable-mount male with a matched set. It looks serviceable and easy to disassemble, but I'd bet that a device like doesn't have much extra room inside.

Are you sure you're contacting the correct company? I've never seen anything by Sony they weren't proud enough to put their name on.

Just an update.

The Japan auction site has a couple of things that would solve my problems (ie Manual and a DC Connector) but hey what a high price they fetch over there.

Mine had a cracked meter plastic cover, so looked on eBay and found a meter from China of the same size for a cheap price of £2.90 and that is delivered, took the face plastic cover off of it and swapped for the cracked one, now looking just fine.

As regards the DC connector, I have had no luck at all so now the aim is to swap the socket for a 7 pin DIN type, which is looking like they can be swapped.

As regards contacting Sony, yes I contacted the EU division for Professional Equipment and that was the reply I received so I had a go at the equivalent USA site and begging for help, their reply was to contact the EU division. So much for Sony after-care.

So in essence many thanks to all who have replied and for reading my woes. LOL.
