Hi,
I just grabbed an USB Condenser Mic for Podcasting. STRANGE! Input Level was so HIGH, peaked though I just turn the input level to 1/10 !

Need your help... what should I do? Is it Mic Faulty? Or...

Appreciate!

That's a pretty reasonable microphone, of its type and cost. When you said it overloaded even though you turned the input level to 1/10, exactly which control were you using for the input level? I'm hoping you are not referring to the knob on the front of the mic, which is the volume control for the headphone output.

In the driver, there should be a gain adjustment or boost, set it there...
Also check what is chosen as mic input your recording software.

PC,
I was recording via USB port and I was with GarageBand, therefore the setting via selected audio interface (USB of the mic in my case), input level adjust from there. And that was the 1/10 that I've mentioned.

Boswell,
Absolutely...NOPE, haha. Yes, it's the volume control or input monitoring volume knob. As above mentioned, i adjust the volume via the Selected USB Input from GarageBand.

I'm no mac user but I think, the record level in garageband is good for fine tunning but you should change the level in the sound adjustments of the OS first :

Are you using the drivers on the mic website or it's a plug and pray thing ?

Yup. It's plug and play on Mac. And this is my very first time for USB Mic with such weird situation! What else can I try to troubleshoot?
