which is easier to mix?

Do you guys have an opinion on what is easier to mix. A 3 piece power trio on about 12 to 18 tracks, or a 48trk+ mega production. Just curious.

one would like to think the 3-piece would be a cinch - yet those examples are too vague

it could be a power trio with two massive guitars and you need to do something interesting - and the big production may just have alot of little rythm fillers here and there.

I am always happy when I'm able to leave some air in a mix
