Im a Cubase SX user with a SB live card on my comp. I was able to borrow a vocal and condenser mic from a friend of mine. I have a cord and an add on that will enable me to connect the condeser and the vocal mic to my computer for a recording session. Will this work or will i fry something?.

hey man i wouldn't suggest using a sb for recording audio. the quality in those cards weren't meant for high quality recordings so the end result might not be as good as you might have thought it would be. When it comes to daws, having a better mic doesn't always fix the problem either. Though it should work (though the condensor should be powered by phantom power but i'm not sure what condensor you're using), your connections are going from XLR and/or quarter inch down to eighth inch am i correct? this can result in frequeny loss which will make your recordings sound low and crap quality. (though i could be wrong. But i did try something like that at my friends house since he didn't have any money to buy a pro sound card and it resluted in what i just said. low quality recordings. i was able to bring up the volume on the audio tracks and they ended up sounding airy.) but let me know how it went for you.
