Has anyone heard of these ADM mic preamp's? supposed to be discrete/Class A and supposed to sound " like an API"

Not too interested on what something sounds "like" but how it sounds period

I've heard of ADM. They made consoles years ago, a studio that I used to work at bought a few modules. Unfortuantly they didn't get racked up until just before I left so I never got a chance to use them. I would imagine that they sound good because one engineer used them for kick and snare rather then the 1064's. But, if you want something that sounds like an API why not get some API?

I have an ADM home-made lunchbox and an API that since I could not afford the EQs, was loaded with pres only. They sound different but equal. I also have the Brett Arivall? 1272 conversions. They are all nice and work great on different things. If I were to describe the ADMs, I would have to say They weight towards the APIs but on the Neve side...???

I can probably get you as many as you want for $200 from a friend of mine who just bought an ADM console and tore it apart. That is where mine came from but, he is having a hard time selling them. I think they are an amazing sleeper. He also has the wiring harness cut into sections. This will save your ass when racking them.

Sounds like a deal for someone if you can figure a way of hearing/approving of them before you commit to payment, and for your friend to have his hands on the dough temporarilly while the descision is being made by the buyer (hey...did I just invent e-bay?)
