Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience comparing the many different types of:
1. multitracking software
2. wave editing software
3. sequencing
or perhaps suites that contain a combination of the above. I find that Cubase sx3, sonar5, and Pro Tools are some hot multitrackers, and gigastudio is one of the best sequencer/samplers. Anyone have any input on these? which of these would you say is better?

I guess so, but i still think you can compare the different programs in terms of sample and effects qualities, organization/layout, latency, stability. I was wondering if anyone has had the chance to compare these key features.
Im running windows with an audiophile 192 card, so i can use just about any of the programs mentioned

The thing is my impression of what's best might be the antithesis of what you consider best, therefore the best advice I can give you is to visit the manufacturers' websites of the programmes you're interested in, have a look at the various specs and any screenshots they might have and, if available, download the demos and see how you get on with them.

i only need Logic and Peak. and for me they are the best and worlds apart from any other software outhere, the only other thing i dig is ableton live for hmmm.... live use.
but that is my opinion, nothing else.
having used pretty much all avialable audio softwares.

You're going to choose a DAW based on the bundled samples and effects? You know you can add your own..? :lol:

Depends more on your hardware and drivers than your DAW.

I didnt want a PT LE setup cos I didnt want to be tied to Digidesign hardware, and I do alot of work with MIDI and found Cubase SX nicer to work with. Also depends what system you are using, Mac or Windoze.
Anyway, it is a subjective thing really, you cant say "That one is the best" cos it will be different for different people.
