Hi i have been having difficulties lately with my CD Burner. It seems to produce discs full of errors?

I have tried using different software Sequoia/Nero/Soundforge even Windows Media Player and all produce errors.

Will a CD lens cleaner have any effect on a CDR or should I just forget about it and buy a new one? If so suggestions please. Bear in mind I live in the UK so links to shops in the US would be a waste of time.

Cheers 'n' all that!

Try this: remove the burner from your computer. Pull the disc tray fully out. Place in top rack of dish washer. Run light wash cycle.
Most CD burners now days are dishwasher safe.
If it is a standalone unit, Swiffer makes some products that can reach in there and give it a good scrubbing.

And remember the golden CDR rule: Good burner + Good Blank CDR = Good Burn

A.K.A. : Plextor + Taiyo Yuden (or Mitsui) = Good burn

What detergent - Finish 3in1??

OK I was just being lazy - not wanting to pull my machine to bits.
I have bought a Plexwriter premium, put it in and everything's fine.

I might wash the old one, just as you suggested Reggie, so it smells nice before going into the skip!
