It indicates that you are in the United Kingdom but it doesn't seem like you're a native English speaker? Let's see what we can do here.
So you want to record some live drums to go with your MIDI-based music? Sure, no problem. You're not sure how to record them? Well, the first thing you'll need is a bag full of microphones. Try a bag full of SM57's because you really won't need anything else. And if you keep all the microphones consistently the same, you'll have less problems dealing with that cluster bomb of microphones. Then you need a bag full of cables. Don't forget a few boxes of microphones stands & drum claws. Good, now we can begin. First, carefully aim a microphone on each drum. Stick a couple overhead to pick up the cymbals (they don't have to be condenser microphones just microphones). Now here's the tricky part, you have to have a computer audio interface to plug all of those microphones into separate sockets all at the same time. And while you might like using [="http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/cubase/cubase6_start.html"]Cubase[/]="http://www.steinber…"]Cubase[/], you're going to have to accept the fact that you're going to be putting each one of those microphones each on its own separate track. OMG I know that's blowing your mind! And unfortunately, you may only be able to plug-in 8 simultaneously, which sometimes isn't enough for certain drummers. Once you have each one of those 8 microphones plugged into each one of those 8 inputs you can then assign each one of those 8 separate microphones to 8 separate tracks in the timeline of your [[url=http://="http://www.steinber…"]Cubase[/]="http://www.steinber…"]Cubase[/] or, Garage Band, anything like that. This is what recording is all about. You're not going to take 8 of those microphones and print them to a single stereo track. It ain't going to happen that way. I mean you can do that since I've done that for live recording for over 30 years. But you're not talking about creating a stereo mix you're talking about recording and tracking. Mixing comes after all of that. And when asking for help about making a recording, you should include information about what sort of equipment you currently have in your possession. Otherwise it's sort of like asking why you can't win a drag race against Shirley cha-cha Muldowney without telling us what kind of car you are using. Or, a comment like Dr. it hurts when I do that. I mean I have enough trouble of my own trying to make recordings because I don't have any clients coming in the door these days. Never mind that I could take more than 40 inputs. I don't hear anything coming out of my console right now. Why don't I hear anything? It's because there's nothing going in like microphones or money.
