If I have the KRK gen 4 Rokit 8 monitors, but then I found a Gen 3 KRK K10s Powered Sub, it's gonna run just fine right? There's no reason I shouldn't hook this up?

It should work fine. Cable your DAC or mixer outputs to the inputs of the sub and the high-pass outputs from the sub to the speakers. The only tricky thing may be getting the relative levels correct between the sub and the mid/tops.

The KRK 10S has a jack for a bypass switch. A handy tip is to get a footswitch of the type used for toggling guitar effects and use that for switching the sub in/out. I use it all the time for checking the low end balance in mixes.
