Thanks for posting the link, Boulder. I read through it, and found your explanations to be very informative also... especially to those who perhaps don't understand the basic principles of gain reduction.
I think the link I posted was aimed more at those who thought they knew how compression worked, and who maybe didn't understand what really happens.
Yours was better at explaining the various functions and parameters to those who don't know anything about it. :)

Considering that the improper use of Gain Reduction is usually where the wheels come off the wagon on most amateur mixes, particularly by those home-level recording hobbyists who tend to use it on their tracks and mixes without any real regard as to how it really works and what it really does, I think these links/posts are timely and valuable.
