I wanted to publicly thank you for your advice on the potential purchase of a Trident S40 preamp. I bought one and will let you all know what I think of it once it gets here. It sounds like it is going to be a nice piece of gear and a huge step up from the Digimax D8 I currently use.
I'm quite excited.

Okay, I know this was specifically to thank RemyRAD, but I do have a couple questions to ask too...
First, I don't think I'm going to get a manual with this preamp. Is there a downloadable one somewhere? I've looked without finding one.
Second, on some online photos I've seen of the Trident there is a 1/4" In & 1/4" Out on the back of the box labeled "Compressor CV" with a white dash line connecting them. What is that for? Is it some kind of side-chaining connection?
When I get this amp I want to plug-&-PLAY.
