Hi All -
I'm finally biting the bullet to try to get this right. I need a reference track and for some reason am coming up entirely blank.
I wrote this song a very long time ago and was into Hornsby's Mandolin Rain and also have always been smitten with the outro of Layla - - both of which...
Hi All -
I've got a new one to share. This week's songwriting club phrase/word was 'toxic." Another last minute "a-ha" and my wife having me on a "juicing reboot" were the inspiration. Hope you dig it! Thanks for listening.
I can do the same. The Pitch Editor is a separate component. I'll give it a go in a bit. Thanks again for the inspiration. I may "ping" you with a question or two. But the video you linked is pretty clear.
Thanks Sean. You're inspiring me to break down and invest the time. It is my understanding (which isn't saying much) that work with pitch correction in Nectar "offline" rather than live in the daw. Is that correct?
I'm going to watch the video you attached. Thanks!
Hey Donny! Thanks for all of the feedback and info! Yeah - my days of pro-recording are a few decades past - back when we had to beg, borrow, and steal just to buy tape. I am one of those old guys who still needs to make music and is eternally grateful for digital and being able to do all of...
Donny - Thanks for the info! Here ya go.
Thanks for checking out and I am totally looking forward to your feedback on the recording. Vocals thru SM7B. Acoustic with a Rode NT1A. Bass direct. Drums - EZD2. Piano - - sorta direct. Reaper. Mixed - - - - -in headphones. Flame away! LOL
Hi All -
Really proud of this one. The song - and the recording. 100% in the box - -- in my danged living room.
Sometimes I really dig what technology let's me do.
Thanks for listening. Hope you dig it!
Hey audiokid -
Mixing at super-low levels - - I do hear the cymbals more on top but the VOX - all of the them - are seemingly WAY out front to me - which I suppose is a good thing as long as the vox are good. lol - but it is really interesting to me that the difference in listening level of...
So - - After a little detective work - and fresh ears - and direction from ya'll - -I think I found the culprit(s) - I had transient designer on the snare top with the sustain pulled a little too long and a stereo widener on the high end on the bus. Eliminating those 2 things seems to have...
Hi Everybody and thanks for the replies!
Let's see - I'll tell you the *how* and address the concerns at the same time. BTW - I hear the phase of the cymbals now too - but only when I play it in mono or in the car.
I work in Reaper. Guitars are a mix of standard Tele, 62 re-issue Strat, and 57...
Hi all -
It's been awhile since I've posted. I've been working on my *skills* as it were. :-)
Here's a new tune - that is looking for a *home* btw - in case anybody knows *somebody* who is looking for a tune. I just have to throw that out there as I live way up high and remote in the...
