Who went to this years AES show? What were your thoughts about it?
In general, I was kind of disappointed. Not that it was probably the smallest show I've ever seen, that's to be expected under the circumstances. What baffled me was that AES in general is operating like it's 1992. They are...

Ok, I need some ideas for organizing and tracking sessions in 2010. I used to use Apogee session tools but over the years (like 20 it seems) it's just become outdated. I've realized now that I have like 10 different programs keeping track of sessions, now I need something to pull it all together...
I got a handful in the mail, is it worth me going through testing these? I think John did a test a awhile back??? They want like $5 a disc for these things. The TY's are clocking extremely low rates on my clover.
installed the new software last week and it's amazing.
M/S or split L/R with peak/RMS variable selections on each channel. the list is to long, but it's an amazing upgrade.
A good friend of mine and engineer Scott Harding was in a horrible car crash a few weeks ago returning from a studio in a cab. 3 Kids were drag racing and ran a red light and plowed into the side of the cab and then fled the scene, the next morning the car was reported stolen. As a result of the...
Well Dave Mcnair (AKA: the gear whore) has the demo of the Algorithmix Blue eq and I went up to his place to go take a listen to it. A definate add to your eq list of things to try out. for a plugin eq it's sweet. I think it's in the $900 range
Ok, I've had Saracon for the mac about 3 weeks now. Playing around with it. Sounds really good. Workflow is pretty straight forward. Select the files, select the processing, select the destination and hit convert. You can alter the buffers to work faster (more CPU) or tailor it to work more in...
wow, pretty nice sounding eq. doesn't sound anything like the stock version. very sweet midrange, actually sounds sweet all around. Just had a listen to Dave Mcnair's and was quite impressed. Pick up a used one and pop in the $800 board and you've got a nice eq.
Well, i've got some video of some choice new gear at AES which I'll be posting some links to in the next few days. Some Super new EQ, A New Compressor, SOFTWARE SRC that is now ported to mac, New mastering console.
What card or interface are you guys using to pump out AC3 digital stream to a 5.1 system? Not looking for the best-est. just want to pump it out of my computer and listen on a consumer system that has optical and coax in. I just want to be able to build a dvd and play the image file and hear the...

If anyone has one of these and has installed windows XP on it, let us know how everything is working. I'm particularly in running audio programs under windows with interfaces. This could open up a whole new world.
Ok all you tweakers and peekers. this will be the beginning of the sticking for monitors. I will take the jewels and edit out the rest and make a sticky out of it.
Picking monitors for mastering: first you have to really think about what you are trying to achieve. Basically you want to hear...
