A few years old, but a very cool interview all the same.
The subject of this very short interview is centered around the 1973 Neve 8028 console that he purchased from Sound City, when the famous studio...
His own history, how he got into audio, as well as having his mind changed about digital audio and Virtual Circuit Modeling (VCM), working with software designer Dr. K (Toshifumi Kunimoto), and the Portico Virtual plugs from Steinberg.
An interesting view of one of the major players - and game...
We bought couple of years ago this amazing analog console.
Will be great to know what everyone of you think about analog console and if some one of you have ever tried this console.
Thanx for supporting us.

Running 1967 fender tele through all of them ,I found the following:
Avalon:Pretty clear, not a lot of color, not very punchy pretty much what I put in
Pacifica very punchy, more dimension and a nice low and top end it just sounded better in my opinion .
Neve 1073: punchy has a great low end...
I ran into an old engineer friend last night at a gig, he had just returned from doing some tracking work at a studio in Florida, and of course, the talk eventually got around to gear... in particular, to preamps.
He mentioned that on the latest project he was working on, that he had used...
It's been quite a while since I was behind a VR - can someone set me straight on the EQ section? IIRC, the freqs (bands) are:
33 - 370
190 - 2k
800 - 8.7k
1.5 - 17
I was hoping that someone who knows better than I can either confirm that, or set me straight. Don't worry about the Q...
... you should!
After a few months of indecision, last week I bought a [="http://www.tecontrol.se/products/usb-midi-breath-controller"]breath controller from Sweden[/]. I received it yesterday and I want to share my excitement about it. I now understand why people rave so much about it.
I have an original 33609/C on the way. It's coming from the UK to me (USA). Most likely, the voltage selector switch will be at 220 (or 240?); I will set that to 120.
The question I have is in regards to the fuses - the main fuse and the secondary. Do I need to change either of those?
Just upgraded my studio with a brand new Focurite liquid Saffire 56 and an Octopre MkII.
With every changes to my gear, I try to better myself. I band project is comming soon, they're gonna track in my studio and mix and master at another place. So, I need to export wave files at...
Any one that tries this, please let us know what you think and why you are into hybird mixing and chose or are thinking about choosing this?
Thinking out loud and off the cuff.
My first impression from the literature is it...
I'm looking at a 42 channel Neve for my studio, price is very reasonable for a Neve.I realize this console is designed for broadcast.Having no automation means it's crippled in a mixdown situation, but is there a possibility of adding Necam,or Flying faders?Hows the mix bus?How do the pres and EQs...
Well, not really emulation. Apparently there is a small loop of tape and an actual record and playback head in this thing. So, it's like a small tape saturator. Interesting. At first I thought "this is very cool". Then I thought, at $750 each I could probably by an actual 16 track ATR for the...

I wanted to introduce a new 312 style mic pre to the forum. The Warm Audio WA12 is completely discrete with custom wound USA made Cinemag transformers, 71db's of gain and high headroom. I've sold 8 channels of this design to a Neve console owner in Florida at a much higher price, it is the...
Okay. So normally when I am recording on location I am the master of redundancy and backup recording (duh). Two nights ago I went to record my wife's high school orchestra holiday concert with of course narrator for a Dickens Christmas story/arrangement. First off, I didn't roll out the HD24XR...
