Anyone tried the Groove Tube VIPRE?

Any opinions on the Groove Tube VIPRE Microphone preamp?

Yep, it's a pretty cool, rather desirable set of flavors to add to just about every project I've done lately. Way cool unit!!

The VIPRE is one of the few things I've gotten into the studio that really blew me away. Everything, the construction, the sound- just blew me away.

There's a lot of color to be controlled in the impedance settings. I've found I can get damn near everything going through it pretty huge, no matter how weak the player. It's a monster on kick- no eq, just mean punch and low end.

You guys aren't kidding, that thing blew me away. We tried everything from a 57 to a elux 251 and it sounded great on every mike. Great tool.

Anyone used that new UA tube pre? The UA610 or something like that. It also has variable impedence. It doesn't have variable rise, but still..
