Cost effective w/o sacrificing pro-quality using PowerBo

Hi.. have a nice PowerBook (it's loaded) that I'd like to use to record live DJ sets (from the mixer).. I'm aware of all the expensive solutions (Logic Plat 6), but wanted to solicit the insight of this forum before spending the cash. I'd like to steer clear of known issues and limitations, as well as be apprised of cheaper but "just as good" solutions.

I could, of course, build a custom Desktop PC fairly inexpensively, but I'd like to keep things mobile, and I'd like to use the PowerBook I already dropped a hefty chunk of change on. :)

One thing I'd really like to be able to do is to burn projects to CD and include CD Text.

Any and all help/insight is greatly appreciated.

How about [="http://www.bias-inc.com/"]Bias Peak LE[/] to record with and [="http://www.roxio.com/en/products/toastwithjam/index.jhtml"]Roxio Jam[/] to burn the CDs with?
