Difference between Shure's beta 52 and the Pro-DJ copy?

Hey everyone.
I once bought a beta 52 from a local musicstore, I payed A LOT less for it because it was a copy made by a manufacture called Pro-DJ - The man in the store claimed that it was identical with the Shure, only the little elastic plastic strip around the mic (if you know the mic, you will understand what I'm referring to...) had been replaced with a blue instead of a red.
I've also been using some SM57 copies, and when for a couple of weeks ago purchased a real Shure sm57, I thought it was a lot better than the copy i also owned - and then it hit me....!
- I've never been satisfied with the sound of my beta 52 copy, and my question is if the components of the copy are different from the Shures???

You can be pretty sure you were framed. There is probably not a single component identical between you copy and the Shure. Not that this necessarily means that your mic has to be bad in any way, it could even be better for some usages. But generally things that are sold as copies are not quite up to what the originals delivers. After all there is a reason why the copy has to try to tailgate on the original.

I dont think there is any difference in the SHS om-450, and the shure SM57. Probably no diff between the om-500 and sm58 either, but havent tried that one yet. Both of those mics are very simple, yet get the jobs done, as they apply to soo many applications, so it seems like if you went with one of these "clones" it would be safer, rather than say a Beta52 wannabe. If you dont like the sound from the wannabe, maybe it sounds very close to the actual. To avoid this problem BUY AN AUDIX D6!!!! Sweet, sweet, necta!
