mac to pc file conversion for mastering (Slightly OT)

Hi,

This is slightly OT, more of a computer issue I'm having.

I was wondering if someone can help me with a conversion issue I'm having. I'm at uni and I use the uni's studio to record quite often. They're running a protools system on a mac. I've come to the time I want to master some of my stuff and becuase of the load on the studio at uni I decided to do this stuff at home.

This is where I ran into a problem. I'm running a PC and using Wavelab for a mastering program.

I bounced my stuff down to a 24bit, 44.1 .wav files on the mac thinking that I'd be able to open this on my PC.

I burnt this to a data CD using a program called 'Toast' (which I don't really know much about, the uni uses it though for burning). I'd selected in this program to burn a CD that was readable by both Mac and PC.

When I loaded the CD on my PC it read the disk alright and recognised the files, however they weren't .wav files. I tried renaming them .wav files but the PC still wouldn't recognise them as wav files.

Does anyone know what might be going wrong here? Is there a way I can take a Mac .wav file and open it on a PC?

Have you made sure you had the ISO9660 compatibility option enabled on the burning program on the Mac?

I've done it several times with this option and I had no problems opening back files and whole Pro Tools sessions from a TDM Mac to my LE on PC; another suggestion is to make sure that the Mac has the Joliet extension, that allows the file names to stay exactly the same when going back and forth from one platform to the other.

For clarification, in ProTools, enforcing Mac/PC compatability is for the ProTools sessions only. If you burn a red-book CD with toast, Wavelab would recognize it.
