Monitor setting ???

I have a ViewSonci E771 monitor. Whenever I boot up my computer my previous settings are never stored...I always have to re adjust the settings. I was told that I need to turn off the monitor with it's own on/off switch, that didn't work. Is there a way for my computer to remember the settings?

sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I can't get the answer anywhere else.

hmmm.very perplexing! havent heard of anything like that before!! Have you tried resetting the monitor..most monitors have what they call a "degaussing" function..it refreshes the monitors internal CPU for colors and so forth..
when you go into your display properties and go to the advanced..what does it list as your default monitor? You may need to update your system to make sure it lists the correct monitor..

Thanks for the quick reply. I recently upgraded the drivers and deguassed etc. It just won't keep my previous settings.

what resolution settings are you using? try lowering them and restarting and see if that helps..maybe you are going beyond the monitors capabilities? Just a thought
