need new mic/pre combo(HELP)

hey everyone. really wanna know what you all think of this list and which mic OVERALL excels for vocals. the mic needs to be ordered by sunday.

the price of the mic needs to stay under $600, unless that good.. but i can't touch 1000 right now b/c i need to get the new pre.

this is whats on my mind,

if any of you have any mics to add, give me a link and a price.. but i need to quit beating around the bush and just buy a new mic

preamp wise.. i know these aren't the top, but i know they're better than my aphex 207.

the combo will be used for tracking hiphop/r&b vocals and some poets to a motu 828MKII to nuendo 2.2

id say go with the Focusrite voicemaster pro for the pre, because it is the cheapest and has a bunch of features, and does look teh best out of the 3 to me

im not to sure about the mic..??
does it have to be a tube?

after modeling each unit, i think the tampa has a smoother more upfront sound but the focusrite has the deesser and a few other things.. but right now seeing that money is an issue and i can get the tampa under 300.. i might have to do that.

mic wise, no it doesn't have to be a tube mic, but this mic will be replacing a tube mic.. a cad m9.
but it doesn't have to be a tube mic thats why i put the ksm44 and 4050 in the mix... i need something to render a better quality than my cad M9>aphex 207 combo.
the main thing i hate about the aphex is i can't get a hot signal to the computer with out its miclim popping in and its driving me crazy.. the tampa i'ma probably run digital to the computer i haven't made my mind up yet

what up with the apex 460 mic? i can get one really cheap and i've heard the apex 450 before and liked its sound.. sounds like the ntk but smoother.
i wonder whats up with the 460.. i might get one if anyone says its worth the price tag

Love my 4050. Nice to have a multi pattern mic for a reasonable price, a poorman's U87.

4050 or the ksm44 would be my choice in that order. But i think you would be further ahead to save you money for a "real" mic pre rather than the ones on your list. A good mic pre can make a shure 58 sound great. A good compressor does wonders as well.

i'ma get the Tampa just because it has a good sound and its only $230. can't beat that deal. its the poor mans avalon. i'll be getting a isa220 or avalon 737sp late this year or early next year.. i just bought a new car so money is tighter than usual
