Pop Filter Maintenance

Recently I've noticed some extremely ratty, smelly, funky, ranked out, pop filters. Went down to the 99 cent store & bought a couple packages of hosery and "upgraded" the current pop filter (I'm sure I'm not the 1st person to do this). It doesn't smell now, and there's less chance of spreading germs.
Now, this might be a kint-picking kind of question, but has anyone experemented with different types of panty hose on their pop filters? Are they better wrapped tight or lose? Hopefully some of you female engineers (and cross dressing male engineers) can help make a suggestion.

Brittany & Kate Moss just give me theirs used ones for my pop shields, so I never have to go buy them!

Most computer stores have things called "anti-glare screens" which is a very tightly stretched fine mesh material that is fit into a frame for the purpose of going over a computer screen (for those unfortunate bastards that have to deal with daylight glaring off their computer monitor).

These "anti-glare screens" make the best 'pop filter/spit shield' I've ever used... way better than panty hose [unless you can obtain a pair of Brittany's or ______'s used ones]

Anyone had a chance to audition these newer metal style pop filters? I think Stedman makes one. BLUE does something similar too. Looks like it would last forever and be easy to clean, but how well do they work compared to the usual?

Those Metal things are quite cool and certainly quick and easy enough to clean. I was intrigued by the design ... that they're supposed to direct the air. They definetly work as well, if not better than any other popper stopper I've used. And as long as you take care of it, the thing will last forever. Just be careful of the edges though.

Also, as far as "COOL" factor ... it never fails to get a comment from the singer .. :D

I have the Stedman 101 metal pop filter and so far it is great. Much better than any other we have used.

I took my pop filter and put some liquid soap on it then rinsed it under running water then shook it out & towel dried it..

"Washed it"

Of course I had back up standing by.

:D
