My name is Eric Vincent a.k.a. Curve Dominant...welcome to the Roland VS Virtual Groove Lounge.
I am a forum moderator, not an expert. I welcome VS users to "take ownership" of this forum. In the future, every participant will be a "moderator."
This forum is dedicated to serving the needs of VS users to share information, expertise, antecdotes, and exhibit the music they create in the VS realm.
This forum is not "instead of," but rather "in addition to" Planet VS. Think of this forum as an "after-party" to Planet VS, where you can kick back and shed the "newbie/elite" class differences, and just have fun and chill, discussing ways the VS fits into the bigger picture of creating music. Share methods of interaction with MIDI, outboard gear, artistic inspiration, long term artistic goals, and where the music is taking you, as well as where you are taking the music.
I am a composer/producer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/poet/romanticist based in Philadelphia, and occasionally in NYC. I have a hybrid analog/digital music development studio, centered on the Roland VS880EX, called Curve Dominant Sound&Vision, where I create original soundtracks for theater, dance, TV, and film. I also write songs, and I'm currently producing a CD of new works on the VS for release later this year for the international club/dance audience.
Anyone who is using the 1680, 1880, or 2480 should contact audiokid to request co-moderating this forum. I'll handle the 880/890 end, and anything else that comes up in the meantime.
So introduce yourselves, and tell your friends that a new party is in effect...
